Xuantyi Ng

also known as Ng Xuan Tyi, a Penang‑born Malaysian Chinese composer, first earned his bachelor’s degree in Electroacoustic Music Composition at the Communication University of China. He is now pursuing theoretical composition in the Department of Music at the Chinese Culture University, Taiwan, under Prof. Wen‑Tze Lu, while also studying orchestral conducting with Prof. Paul Tien‑Chi Lin.In November 2023, Ng conducted the premiere of his first orchestral work “Mu Ji (木及)”, winning First Prize in the Theoretical Composition Category of the Hwa Kang Concerto Competition at KHS Hall, Luzhou. In June 2024, his vocal chamber piece “The Reeds (蒹葭)” won the Counterpoint Ensemble Young Composer Selection and was premiered at the Recital Hall of the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying). Supported by the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS), Ng spent one semester (Fall 2024) as an exchange student at Yeungnam University in South Korea, where he completed further composition studies with Prof. Lim Ju‑Seub (임주섭).
